The coffee story
Finca Nelumbo is a 14 hectares farm owned by Ringo Contreras, a 45 years-old farmer from Yurinaki in the Chanchamayo Province, Junín, Peru. An electrical engineer by trade, Ringo returned to the countryside following a passion for coffee that was born when he was still a child. The farm belongs to his father, who founded it in 1970. Ringo has 1 brother and 2 sisters and they grow the Catuai, Limani and Marsellesa varieties at Nelumbo. Though the farm still produces a small amount of coffee (around of 100 bags of good quality), Ringo is working towards increasing his production for the coming harvests.
