The coffee story
Desta Golo has been selling this coffee since 2014. His farm in Yirgacheffe sits between 1,900 and 2,000 meters above sea level. His farm is located in the Gorbota micro-region of the Dodora kebele in the Wonago woreda, Gedeo Zone. He is a father of four sons and three daughters. Desta holds his own organic certificate.
Desta used to be a part of the Adame Garbota Cooperative, which is under the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union. In 2014, he started selling his coffee directly. Following the provision of direct access to the international market by the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority in 2019, he started exporting independently with the involvement of other parties just for communication and logistics facilitation.
The farmer is one of Gedeo's model producers. He uses a mini hand pulper.
