Rondonia Region, Brazil, with the expectation of seeking a greater appreciation of
the market for the robust amazonian.
The cooperative was created with the mission of seeking greater added value for
coffee and simultaneously influencing the improvement of the quality of coffees in
the region. In 2019, the organization entered the Fairtrade certification process,
having its certification validated in 2020. LACOOP made its first export of Premium

coffees approved by more than 3 countries
COFFEE PRODUCTION
The organization produces robust amazonian variety coffee, a process carried out
predominantly by small producers in the region known as Matas de Rondonia. Ripe
grains are collected and follow different forms of drying, the most frequent being:
cement terrace, suspended terrace and greenhouse. Some producers have a
structure to pulp the coffee.
BENEFITS OF FAIRTRADE
For the Cooperativa Dos Agricultores Familiares Da Amazônia, the Fairtrade seal
allows giving visibility to the work of the producers, give economic value to the
coffee production and help in the construction and consolidation of a strong
producer organization and with the power of negotiation with the markets.
Due to its recent certification, the organization has yet to receive funding from the
Fairtrade Premium.
