Santa Isabel is in my family for 25 years and it is our second coffee farm. The farm is managed by my brother José and I (Karen) help my father Adolfo run Café Kapeu, a company he started to give farmers more support in processing and sales with better prices. Many producers leave their coffees with us in consignation. When we find good prices for them we sell and they get a better share.

I am a Q Grader and the head of quality control at Café Kapeu. I cup coffees from over 700 producers all over Ciudad Vieja, where our office is, and Antigua. It is my job to tell them if there are any practices that can be improved based on the quality of their cup. "
