Cafetalera Zamorana is a Costa Rican family-owned coffee company led by Don Jorge Zamora and his family, with farms located in San Isidro, Sabanilla, Poás, and Naranjo. All coffee is estate-grown and processed under specialty coffee standards, combining generational experience with ongoing farm renovation and mill modernization.
The company maintains traditional varieties such as Catuai and Caturra, alongside higher-yielding and high-cup-quality cultivars, allowing Zamorana to offer consistent, traceable coffees representative of their growing areas.
In the cup, the Zamorana Central Valley washed Catuai expresses a classic regional profile: medium to medium-high malic–citrus acidity, clean and well-defined structure, medium body, and sucrose-like sweetness. Flavor notes include red apple, pear, and sweet citrus, supported by light caramel and fresh almond undertones. The finish is clean, balanced, and persistent, with a sweet, slightly floral aftertaste. The cup stands out for clarity, uniformity, and balance, characteristic of mid-to-high elevation washed Catuai from Costa Rica’s Central Valley.
