Amália Ruiz is a 5 generation coffee producer. A few years ago her father gave her the management of the coffee farm located in San Jose de la Montaña in Heredia Costa Rica. Amália has worked together with Coopelibertad in the Microlots project. Under this project she intends to improve her income from coffee production and with this continue to improve the quality and productivity of her plantation. Amália is also a woman leader within Coopelibertad; she is part of a Women's Committee within the Organization and has recently created a gender policy that seeks gender equity in the coffee sector within the Cooperative. Her coffees are of high quality thanks to the favorable soil and climate conditions of her farm as well as the varieties of coffee that she grows.
