The coffee story
Founded in 2015 by the young sons of coffee producers of the Amazonas region, Norcafe represents 285 smallholders with the objective to find new markets for their coffees and secure good prices in order to improve the community's livelihoods.
The association markets coffee for a large number of young families who have inherited their passion for coffee from their parents and decided to follow in their footsteps.
With the support of Norcafe, they have started to improve their practices, increasing the average fermentation period for cherries before washing and drying the best coffees slowly to ensure consistency. Norcafe also provides pre-harvest assistance in weeding, selective pruning, pest and disease control, fertilisations, planting of living barriers and water care with environmentally friendly practices.
Selective picking and pulping on the day of harvest. Average fermentation of 30 hours followed by washing with clean water and drying on raised beds and polytunnels.

"Mishanango: This coffee is super juicy, sweet and versatile. It brews excellently as espresso aswell as filter and even stands up to milk. It's been an all-round favourite here at Old Spike this year."
