The coffee story
Natalia co-runs a coffee farm and micro-mill in Frailes, with her parents and her brother’s family. She comes from a coffee-producing family, and so she grew up seeing her father working on the farm from a young age. In 2020, they decided to start a micro-mill, which they named Tito Miel. The unusual name, which literally means ‘Grandpa Honey’, comes from the way one of her young sons pronounces his grandfather’s name, Miguel Ángel. Natalia says that for her, coffee signifies family and hope, and she believes that it is very important not only in the history of the country but also in the story of her family. She dreams of giving an educational emphasis to the farm in the future, to help children feel connected to coffee and to the earth itself.
