Hambella woreda is one of the major coffee producing woreda in West Guji zone of the Oromia region in Ethiopia. Some of the most well known kebeles in this woreda are Benti Nenka, Buku Abel, Buku Hurufa, Buku Saisa, Goro Bedesa, Tirtira Dimtu, Goyo...etc. One of our mills in Hambella woreda is located in Chorso Sodo Kebele, and it sits at altitude of 2500 masl. Though no coffee grows at this altitude, our mill gets its cherries from Benti Nenka, Goyo and all of the Bukus. The mill in Chorso Sodo has access to the beautiful cherries harvested in those kebeles. This mill produces Natural and Anaerobic Naturals that are selectively harvested and slowly sun-dryed on raised African beds. Every coffee produced at this mill is Organic Certified, and the value added through the certification is shared with our 350 out-grower farmers as a second, winter payment.
