The coffee story

Around 85 years ago, Vicente Gómez and María Reyes acquired a plot in the village of Sanguayaba, in Palencia. Over the years, they took the decision to share the land with their family. That was how José Gómez received Finca La Bendición from his parents. The farm grew crops of potatoes and corn at first. Later, the family decided to have dairy cattle. This didn't last long. Several cows died, rolling down the steep mountainsides. José Gómez became frustrated by the economic loss. Thanks to the advice of some friends, he decided to plant coffee in his land. This is how what we now know as Finca La Bendición was born, in the year 1997. The farm received its name because the land is considered a gift and a blessing from God.
