La historia del café

Our Café Mujeres en Libertad is the result of a project full of illusion and enthusiasm. In 2023 a group of Women Associates of Coopelibertad join together and form a Gender Equity Commission. This Commission has the objective of building a Gender Equity Policy within the Cooperative and developing a Program of Activities to train, capacitate and promote the work of women within the Organization. It is within the framework of this beautiful Program that the “Café Mujeres en Libertad" project was born! This coffee is the result of the harvest of more than 35 farms managed by Women Producers of Coopelibertad. The Administration of the Cooperative has generated a specific commercialization strategy for the production of this group of women with the intention of finding roasters that see in this project a way to support the search for gender equity by promoting the purchase of a coffee cultivated 100% by women that want to continue developing in this activity. Café Mujeres en Libertad allows this group of 35 women producers to receive agronomic training workshops, motivational talks, leadership and empowerment, among other things. In addition, for each 69 kg bag of this coffee that is exported, the Cooperative transfers directly under the modality of “Gender Prize” an additional payment of $30 to this group of women. The Prize must be used for investments that impact the productivity of the farm and is verified by the organization itself as part of the commitments of the women who are part of the Project.
