Mountain Harvest is an exporter, producer, and farmer services provider within Uganda serving about 2,000 smallholder farmers of Mount Elgon, Rwenzori, and Kisoro regions. Our mission is to challenge the status quo of Ugandan coffee production towards a more sustainable and equitable future for all, envisioning a future where smallholder farmers are not just surviving, but thriving. Started in 2017 by a team comprised of young coffee professionals and impact-focused nonprofit development workers with the guiding vision of Kenneth Barigye (MD), Mountain Harvest realized that to build greater resiliency of the smallholder farmers and the farmlands we love, we needed to create a new kind of Ugandan coffee business centering farmer engagement and quality coffee. With this, we are finding solutions for coffee at the source, by the source.
