From our little slice of paradise
Our farm is located in Guatemala's Atitlan region. It was established in 1870, and is managed under sustainable environmental and socially responsible practices. We are the 5th generation that continues the family tradition.
The farm has been certified organic since 2002, and in addition to the organic programs, we have Bird Friendly and Rainforest Alliance certification.
We are committed to sustainable production practices and the backbone of our production system is diversified shade. Our fields surpass the requirements for shade grown coffee standards.
With natural springs, rivers and the variety of vegetation that include fruit trees, our coffee fields offer a haven for local and migratory wildlife. From yellow-headed parrots to toucanets, deer, otter, coati, grison, bats and a variety of pollinators, there is never a quiet or dull moment, something is always chirping or buzzing.
Our fields are between 1,100 and 1,600 meters above sea level, and the varieties cropped include mostly Red and Yellow Bourbon, Pacamara, Red Catuai, and we have other varieties in smaller quantities like Robusta, Gesha, Pink Bourbon, among others. Our coffee is washed and sun dried in patios.
Experience the distinct flavor profile of Finca Ceylan, coffee grown with passion, and with our full commitment to sustainability.
