Aquiares sits on the slopes of Turrialba Volcano, the south-eastern most volcano of Costa Rica´s Central Mountain Range, which faces the Caribbean Sea. The whole region is blessed with rich volcanic soils and abundant rainfall that brings in nutrients from the Caribbean sea; resulting in a coffee that is sweet, has a juicy-mild acidity and a large bean.
Over time, Aquiares has developed strong ties with neighboring farms and has collaborated with them in important topics such as varietal research, integrated pest management, and constant benchmarking. Such collaboration has now resulted in this Regional Fully Washed, which carefully blends Caribbean-influenced coffees with those of Aquiares Estate.
The result, is a clean and classical Costa Rican washed coffee, with distinct chocolate sweetness and delicate citric notes that make it an ideal Single Origin. We hope CARIBE will carry the spirit of farmer collaboration beyond the borders of Aquiares Estate to passionate roasters worldwide.
