The coffee story

Marani, located in the western part of Nyamira County of Kenya, is renowned for its high-quality coffee production. Marani Sub County, one of our distant producer villages, is particularly important. We source coffee from this village's 300 strong producers due to the prevalence of the Blue Mountain variety.

In addition to the large Blue Mountain component, other main varieties cultivated in Marani include SL 28 and Ruiru 11 and K7.

Marani's coffee beans are known for their vibrant acidity, intense sweetness, and bold flavors, with notes of blackcurrant, red berries, and a floral aroma.

We're also proud of our post-milling process. A dedicated team of 70 women handpicks the Marani coffee, ensuring nearly zero defects in the beans. Each season, our team handpicks up to 600 bags of our total AB screen to maintain almost zero defect counts in our green coffee. No machine can match the dedication of these remarkable women.
