The coffee story

The Kiangoi Factory, alongside the Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society, has been building its strong reputation for quality since 1953, and we strongly believe that some of the best lots of the Kirinyaga region can be found at this factory.

Grown and harvested in the foothills of Mount Kenya, this perfect growing environment allows the SL28 and SL34 varietals to flourish and develop into an excellent final product. The lots typically burst with fruit flavours and complex acidity.

The Chairman of this society has implemented various quality-focused processes throughout all the factories of the Rungeto FCS. For example, he installed tiles on all the washing channels and fermentation tanks. Moreover, the water for processing is being reused.

After the liquidation of the famous Ngiriama Co-operative Society, Kiangoi, Karimikui and Kii factories joined to form the Rungeto Farmers' Cooperative Society.

The farmer members are all located on the slopes of Mount Kenya which, together with the neighbouring region Nyeri, is known for its intense, complex, and flavour-dense coffees.
