The coffee story
This coffee is a honey processed micro-lot from various producers from the town of Irupana, South of Los Yungas in La Paz city. It is also hundreds of meters higher in elevation as it is located S 15 degrees from the Equator. Being so high, cherry maturation is super slow, beans are dense and the coffee trees tend to require an extra month of picking compared to the farms in Caranavi.
Farmers carefully hand-pick the ripe cherries and dry them on raised beds with constant care and love. The final profile is wonderfully rich in dark fruits and sugar cane sweetness.
Biodiversity, a healthy and rich terroir, elevation, and progressive and hard work in favour of small farmers seeking sustainable livelihoods with coffee leads to amazing coffees.
