"Farm: Finca La Esperanza Finca La Esperanza was bought by my family in November 2010. The original owner Sonia Moran had inherited the farm from her father but, as her children were involved in other businesses, she decided to sell. At the time there were many potential buyers and Sonia decided in favour of our family due to our shared views on coffee farming. The farm is divided into 18 tablones and was chosen to be our variety garden. Here is where we do many experiments with new varieties of coffee to find out which new ones we can best adapt to our climate. The biodiversity is not restricted to coffee plants, however. We also have a range of trees for shade, like the inga, the eucaliptus and conifers."
