Nensebo, West Arsi - the new cool kid around the town

It's been just a couple years since most roasters around the wold started to hear about this origin; however, Nensebo has been producing coffee as far back as anyone can remember. Though, its coffees used to be smuggled and sold either as Sidam or Harrar coffees till Arsi was designated by the ECX as an origin on its own. In 2020, thanks to COE Ethiopia competition, Nensebo, West Arsi took everyone by a surprise by taking four out of the top ten spots in the first ever Cup of Excellence competition in Ethiopia.

Mr. Banata has a four hectares garden style farm located in Refissa Kebele in Nensebo woreda, and his farm sits at an altitude of 2070 masl.  In his garden style farm, Mr. Banata grows coffee, fruits and Inset, a local carbohydrate source known as falls banana. He Natural processes his organically grown, selectively harvested cherries in a 23 raised bed mill he set up adjacent to his house.
