A história do café
Don Eleazar (co op leader) has been key in transitioning over 104 producers and their small coffee farms into something that we hope will endure the social and environmental changes that continue to knock on the door of conventional agriculture.
It is through constant contact and joint decision making that we have been able to shift the direction of coffee farming in the Mazateca region of Mexico towards a more biodiverse approach that leans heavily on agroforestry.
We have been working together for the last 5 years and have slowly been seeing the results of some of these decisions. Some of them being higher yields and cup quality, but these pale in comparison when comparing to the ecosystems overall health.
We still have a very long way to go but are extremely happy and motivated for what the future holds. Hopefully you will enjoy what this work tastes like through your version of roasting this coffee.
