La historia del café

Located at the foot of the picturesque Nandi Hills is Chepsangor Hills Coffee Estate, a passion project started by Rosebella Langat.

Rosebella also works to support other women smallholders in the region to achieve sustainable production that leads to economic empowerment.

Chepsangor Estate celebrates women coffee farmers producing exquisite Kenyan single-origin Arabica from Nandi Hills, a beautiful region of rivers, waterfalls and abundant rain, where warm winds sweep across the valley from Lake Victoria. The climate enables balanced ripening of the coffee cherries and, combined with rich volcanic soils, the result is a unique flavour profile.

It is the care of the future that led the founder to establish Chepsangor Hills Estate and to start working with over 100 small-scale coffee producers. At Chepsangor Hills Estate, it's believed that it's crucial to meet their needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. They make every effort to ensure a decent living wage for their employees and farmers through specialty coffee. This keeps children of neighbouring small-scale farmers in school and provides economic empowerment to the women coffee farmers.

Chepsangor Hills Estate also supports families to diversify their income and grow food (indigenous vegetables, pawpaws, bananas, beans, groundnuts) for balanced household nutrition.
