Cooperativa Nueva Esperanza del Bosque (Conebosque) was founded in 2004 to process and market coffee produced by small and medium growers in the region. It is a small group with 35 producers of which 20% are women. Each farm has an average of 3 to 4 hectares of coffee and is based on altitudes between 1550m and 1600m. Our regional coffee has a general citric and sweet cup profile with an aroma of lemon and chocolate and notes of almond and caramel with a round body. 

The office and warehouse of the cooperative are located at an altitude 1610 meters above sea level in Aldea el Bosque, a department that belongs to Santa Rosa, Guatemala (45Km from Guatemala City). The cooperative has a wet mill and a dry mill to process its own coffees and have better traceability.


This washed lot is composed of coffees from 4 farmers of Conebosque: Jorge Guzman, Enrique Garcia, Nery Campos and the Ramirez Family.

Jorge drives the community to export coffee and get better prices

About: Jorge joined Conebosque in 2010. He grew up at his family's farm, helping his father with their cattle. When he grew up, Jorge felt demotivated to work with coffee due to the low prices at the time and decided to emigrate to the United States. He lived there for 10 years and later returned to Guatemala to be with his family and look after the farm. Dedicated to coffee, Jorge has been renovating the trees as the older ones have around 50 years. A good part of his plot already has newer trees, ranging from 10 to 15 years. Jorge likes to grow other trees to provide extra sources of income and shade for coffee such as banana, grevillea (silver oak), chalum, orange and lemon trees. Jorge is seen by the community as a kind and positive person, always fighting to export coffee and get better prices to reward their efforts.

About: Enrique is one of Conebosque's founding partners and managed to organize the cooperative alongside several producers
from Aldea el Bosque in 2004. At his farm, Los Apazotales, the age of the trees ranges from 25 to 30 years. The shade is provided by silver oak and lots of pine trees. Enrique is the sixth of twelve siblings and from a young age learned the trade of coffee and processing from his father, who managed a coffee farm in the 1980s. He is currently in charge of supervising the entire dry
processing of coffee at Conebosque to improve and maintain quality.

Nery oversees milling and sorting of the coffees so they are screened and cleaned for exporting

About: Nery is a very patient, kind and calm person. He doesn't like to talk much but when asked about coffee he brings many ideas. At Los Pocitos, Nery produces good quality bananas, taking advantage of the shade for the coffee plants. Father of two, Nery made an effort with his wife to take them forward in their intermediate level studies. His daughter is currently in third grade and his son has just graduated from general mechanics. Nery is currently in charge of managing the milling and sorting in the dry mill. His concern is that the green coffee reaches its destination as clean and homogeneous as possible.

The family runs a 6 hectares plot together and contribute to the coop's work removinng defects of the coffees

Altitude: 1485m
Varieties: Yellow and Red Catuaí

About: Rufina, Otto and Claudia Ramirez run the Trojas Viejas farm together. They produce and collect the coffee at the 6 hectares plot in a farm inherited from their grandfather. The Ramirez family has plants of 15 and 20 years of age and the main shade tree is the native chalum. They joined the cooperative in 2015 with the aim of learning more about coffee and improving their prices.
Claudia is currently one of the members in charge of the selection process for defective beans (black, dried cherry, snail, cut, brocade).

PROCESAMOS EL CAFE DESDE LA FINCA HASTA EXPORTARLO

Dentro del ciclo cafetalero 2001/2002 en todo el mundo se sufrió la crisis del café, una crisis que afecto mayormente a los productores pequeños de café ya que se obtenían precios por debajo de los costes de producción, esto trajo consigo un impacto negativo muy fuerte a la comunidad de la Aldea el Bosque, ya que el principal cultivo de la zona es la producción de café y muchas de las familias dependían principalmente de ese cultivo, muchas de las familias productoras de café decidieron optar por no seguir produciendo café y buscar fuentes de trabajo en otras comunidades cercanas y algunos decidieron emigraron hacia otro países como México, Estados Unidos y Canadá para mejorar la calidad de vida de ellos y de sus familias; En esa misma época un sacerdote guatemalteco que dedico su vida a la religiosidad y radicaba por aquella época en Italia trajo de visita a Guatemala un grupo de interesados en la compra de café de altura, mismos representaban a una organización Cooperativista de Mondo Solidale, cuya finalidad era el Comercio Justo una ideología del contacto directo con el productor con precios Justos para la compra-venta , ese mismo año se tienen acercamientos y ellos deciden comprar café de la región, pero especialmente de la comunidad “El Bosque” ya que vieron que muchas de las familias dependían del cien por ciento del ingreso de la venta de café, desde esos años el lazo comercial y de amistad surgió y nace como organización local para apoyo, acopio, comercialización, y exportación de café: Cooperativa Integral Agrícola “Nueva Esperanza del Bosque” R.L. una organización fundada por productores locales de café de la Comunidad de Aldea El Bosque. Cooperativa Integral Agrícola Nueva Esperanza del Bosque se constituye legalmente un tres de marzo del año dos mil cuatro, según registro numero setecientos veintinueve ante el instituto nacional de cooperativas INACOP, de esa fecha la cooperativa ha ido evolucionando constantemente, pasando por años de crisis como por años de bonanzas; Durante los primeros años fue necesario arrendar maquinaria para la transformación del café oro, ya que no se contaba en esa época con el capital suficiente para poder tener maquinaria propia, tuvieron que pasar tres años para que a base de esfuerzo se comprara la primera maquinaria de trilla de café y con ello lograr darle trabajo a las personas de la comunidad, esto tuvo un impacto positivo en la comunidad, ya que al finalizar los trabajos de recolección de café maduro se continuaban con trabajos de transformación del café oro, eso ayudaba a tener ingresos durante más tiempo a las familias productoras de café, posterior de unos años se vio en la necesidad de tener un lugar propio acopiar ,almacenar y procesar el café de los asociados de la cooperativa, de esa manera se pide un crédito al exterior con las personas de Italia que compraban el café para la construcción de una sede propia, y es así como después de mucho esfuerzo la cooperativa cuenta con su sede; Con forme el lazo de amistad y comercial fue creciendo, se unieron apoyos para la apertura de una sede de educación Básica, ya que en aquella época lo más cercano a estudiar el nivel básico era emigrar a las aldeas de Fraijanes o Santa cruz Naranjo, posterior se unen esfuerzos nuevamente en conjunto para la creación de una clínica comunitaria llamada COOPSALUD , ya que la que estaba anteriormente era del gobierno central y había cerrado, en la actualidad clínica COOPSALUD da consulta médica a todo público y jornadas medicas mensuales

Una vez finalizado el período de pedido, consolidaremos todos los cafés en un contenedor compartido. Durante el transporte, su café está totalmente asegurado. Le mantendremos informado sobre el estado del envío. A la llegada del café al almacén, puede elegir entre 2 modos de entrega:

  • Entrega a domicilio: Nos encargamos del transporte hasta su planta. Le proveeremos su café totalmente asegurado hasta que esté listo para ser descargado del camión en su tostadora.
    • EXW (ExWarehouse) significa que proveeremos el café listo para ser recogido en la terminal del almacén. Usted es responsable de organizar el transporte y el seguro desde el almacén hasta su tostadora.

Actualmente, podemos entregar el café en cualquier lugar de Europa, excepto en Hungría. Para todos los compradores europeos, el café será suministrado con despacho de aduana en cualquier caso. Los tostadores en Suiza que elijan EXW serán responsables del despacho de aduana.

Le ofrecemos pagar 20 días antes de que el café llegue a Europa. Le enviaremos una factura y tan pronto como sea pagada, usted podrá obtener su café liberado del almacén. Esta opción genera un cargo adicional, que se muestra en el carrito de compras.

2. Tarjetas de crédito
