How are we making our coffee micro lots this year ?
I take this opportunity to explain to those who want to source green coffee from well know and traceable supply chain .
At Baho coffee , we have selected big farmers, medium farmers and small farmers all around our coffee washing stations.
Big farmers: with + 3500 coffee trees where we can get an average 10bags of green coffee from each farm. This coffee is separately processed and will be exported without mixing
Medium farmers: from 1000 to 3499 coffee trees . in this category , we put together a group of 10 fameres together and process their coffee separately to make separate lots and we expect each lot to have an average of 20bags
Small farmers: This is a big number of farmers we work with. it is the largest category we have. to make it easy, we selected potential hills to start as model . This year we selected 3 hills around Fugi cws, 5 islands in Kivu Lake and 2 hills around Natural forest of Gishwati ( Bugoyi cws). It is hard but we accepted to face challenges and supply what our market is asking us. Are you interested in this types of well known coffee source and well documented with details of processing? are you interested to work with farmers that you know their names , you can see their faces with their story ? do you want to partner with us to develop this culture of traceable coffee? ( we dont mind on number of bags you can take, better to start with small volume). We are inviting each and everyone that would love to work with us and make sure that we can help coffee consumers to understand the life around their lovely cup of coffee.
