The platform algrano is allowing us to showcase individually the best coffee produced by each of our farmers, opening doors to new markets, transparency and traceability from the farm to the roaster.

We are delighted to be partnering with the Max Havelaar Foundation in Switzerland as it is a ‘win-win’ for producers and roasters at both ends of the value chain. For the first time, Fairtrade-certified growers can now directly reach roasters through the algrano platform and vice-versa

The collaboration with Algrano shows that Fairtrade and direct trade are not mutually exclusive, but go hand-in-hand very well. Small Producer Organizations will be able to offer their Fairtrade coffees on the platform by having the opportunity to directly reach specialty coffee roasters across Europe.
Fairtrade developed a globally recognized system to empower coffee growers around the world and make sure they comply with sustainability (social, economic and environmental) standards. Algrano gives Fairtrade growers the possibility to market and trade their coffees directly and transparently with coffee roasters.
Algrano combines online tools and tailor made trading services to make this direct trade convenient, transparent and safe for both the roasters and growers. Quality assurance, financing, logistics and risk management are assured by Algrano.
Both organizations believe in trade as a tool for economic development and empowerment of communities of growers in rural areas around the world. Offering growers concrete opportunities in the trade of coffee, moving up in the supply chain and beyond the production of coffee, enable these communities to build capacities, professionalize and retain additional value from their product.

Fairtrade is a simple way to make a difference to the lives of the people who grow our coffee. Fairtrade connects producers and consumers, promotes fairer trading conditions and empowers producers to combat poverty, strengthen their position and take more control over their lives.
